The Art of Brotherly Love documentary made its sold out world premiere at the 18th Annual Bushwick Film Festival on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at Williamsburg Cinemas in Brooklyn, New York.

When artist Rah Crawford uncovers the long-forgotten rescue of 135 enslaved Africans by the USS Ganges in the 1800s, it sparks a 15-year creative odyssey. Guided by historians, uplifted by descendant voices, and supported by a devoted circle of allies, Crawford transforms a miraculous act of history into a sweeping cultural and cinematic revival—an epic exploration of love, legacy, and the enduring power of story.

Gangee - A Love Story (Scene 1) was chosen for a test reading in front of a live studio audience during the 16th Annual Bushwick Film Festival. A fine crew of actors breathed vocal life into the characters for the first time.

The debut teaser video for the screenplay features a haunting acapella that captures the raw personal feeling of the story and content. The lush African landscape and scenery are combined to help paint a picture of the epic love adventure that is Gangee.
